Picturesque guesthouse and cabins with fjord view, very sympathetic hosts and homemade breakfast.
Herring house is a very pittoresque place to stay up in the beautiful and rough North of Iceland. Helga and Dagur are warmhearted and great hosts and serve a wonderful breakfast with homemade bread, jam and very good coffee. The cabins are cosy and quiet and have a nice view along the church til the fjord. This time I also did horseriding, a dream came true… you can also do whalewatching and hiking and if you are lucky, you can see the Northern lights. We have come to Herring House for the second time and will for sure come again.

US family of 4 on vacay
I wish we stayed more nights in this apartment, bc it was lovely. We are a family of 4 and were traveling through Siglufjörđur for a night. Dagur greeted us as soon as we parked our car and it was pouring outside.
We had a first floor, 2-bedroom apartment. The beds and furniture were all very comfy. Everything we needed was there for us.
Helga chatted with us upon check-out and she gave us some tips on our next stops in our trip.
